    Starting small

    Hello to all!

After watching all the tutorials for this site I have to say that I am totally inspired to get started. Maybe too inspired (is there such a thing?). I can't slow my mind down on all I want to learn!

I have placed my first order and can't wait to get started with some kind of project. I ordered the button cover kit and refill for it so I can make some ponytail holders with my girls Heather and Autumn (10 and 8). If they like it I might show our girl scout troop leader the project and see if she would like to do it. There are 19 girls right now. If she likes the idea I will probably do the ordering from here. Even with the shipping it will be better for me to order online.

I can't get out much because I have a bad reaction to cig smoke and what lingers on the smokers when they are done. Going out in public is an ordeal for me and I can't go near family members that smoke

I have also ordered the Cream of the Crop Deal of the Day and 2 of the Caroler Charm Packs. After watching the tutorials on the Dresden Tool I had to one of those too

I found some pot holder patterns I would like to try. What is the best batting to use for that type of project? So far all I have found is polyester batting. I don't think that would be good for a pot holder that is meant for use.

I could go on all night about what I would like to do with sewing and crafts. I look forward to visiting this site often and hope to make new friends.

Take care all and Merry Christmas and for those who don't celebrate Christmas I wish you well too.

    Vicki,

I am so glad to have you here and that you have enjoyed the tutorials. I bet your girls are gonna love making hair clips....it is such a fun thing to do together!

To answer your question about the batting for pot holders, we carry a batting specifically for pot holders called Insulbright. We should have it back in stock this week. It is awesome. We've even made some table runners with it, so you can put your hot pan right on the table!

I hope you enjoy your time with us all...we have such an awesome group of quilters. Welcome to the club!

      Hi!

Thanks for letting me know about the batting. I will be checking in regularly and intend on ordering some

I didn't even think about a table runner to put hot stuff on. Thanks for telling me about that, I'm afraid I am becoming obsessive about getting started....I dream I'm sewing at night when I'm sleeping. I hope to make just as beautiful thing while I'm awake

      Merry Christmas
