    sooo....what is a good size...

for a generous "lap" quilt? I want my sister and her new husband to be able to cuddle together so I'm assuming more rectangular than square...and she's 90 lbs soaking wet so doesn't take up much room. Is there a standard lap size or throw size?

What I have seen listed is 54x72 for a lap quilt. I just finished one for my husband and made it 54x84. He's not tall but he likes to be able to tuck it under his feet. I like to make my quilts generously sized.

The last lap quilt I did came out at 58x58. I would go bigger than that if you want two people to fit beneath it.

I need to be able to quilt it on my wee Janome so it can't be too big or I can't manage it. hmmm...i have to think about this some more I suppose! Thanks!

I quilted mine on my Brother and did diagonal lines. Wasn't that bad to do.
