Easter

I want to make my little Julia an Easter basket. I've been looking for patterns and there are so many to choose from. Some of them are really adorable, but are too small. I don't mind paying for a pattern, but I don't want to have to resize it. Have any of you made Easter baskets for your little ones? Do you have patterns that you are willing to share? I know there are many new little babies here this year and thought this would be a great place to look for that special basket.

I think this tutorial for a lined tote bag could very easily be turned into a basket by doing one handle across the middle. Very easy to resize as needed because it is just rectangles of fabric that you cut out. If you wanted it stiffer you could line the fabric with fusible fleece or other interfacing.

I made two of these this year, using fabric and scraps from my stash. I made mine larger than this pattern calls for by using thicker cording. Also, like others who have made this, I used fabric glue while making it, because it is really difficult to get the needle through. After I was done, I went through and reinforced the basket with some thread, using a needle for doll making. We celebrated Easter early this year (two Sundays ago) and the baskets were a hit.

Thank you for the ideas. I'm working on her April blanket now with an Easter bunny appliquéd to it. I'll be working on her basket next.
