    Oiling your Machines

I need to oil my serger (it's been toooo long).

My owners manual (yes the one I considered setting on fire in another thread) just says "Your overlock machine requires very little lubrication" and I don't think that spitting on various locations qualifies.

I have some oil that came with my embroidery/sewing machine, but none for the serger.
Can I use this in both machines????

Who has some/any info on this?
    Thanks

Sewing machine oil is fine for sergers. 3 in 1 oil is good too. A drop on each lower thread shuttle and the needle bar (? - the part that moves up and down that holds the needle) is pretty much all I ever hit with oil on mine - where it was bare metal moving inside bare metal.
