    Just so you know.....

The auto-cut feature on my new Brother Simplicity is WONDERFUL. It took a little while to stop trying to cut my threads, but once I began to get into the habit if hitting that little button, it began to feel so natural...

    Yay!

Isn't it fantastic? That feature and the auto threading out me over the moon when I got my machine.

Also, on my Brother machine I can set it to autocut after I'm done stitching. I hit the reverse stitch button, it does that stitch then automatically cuts the thread. I always forget to program it though.

I will say watch your thread after you cut. In my experience some threads will come out of the needle afte you cut.

I feel the same way about my new Brother. Needle down and cutting is the best!

I think it really saves on thread too! Before you know it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it! Enjoy!

My Brother can be programmed that way too...I think... But, I have no idea hoe to do it.... I 'll check the manual... My ones- on- one session with an instructor is April 8th.... I'm looking forward to that...

I believe it's called auto cut in the manual. I believe it's the little scissor button on the panel.

My Juki has the auto cut button plus it is also on the foot control. Had to disconnect it from the foot controller because I kept on cutting the thread when I meant to sew! LOL

                  Have fun with your machine.

LOL! I have not disconnected mine. I am still living the hope that I can train myself. I usually don’t have a problem unless I’ve been sewing on my Brother for awhile then I have to relearn the peddle. Love thread snips and needle down on both machines. I am sew spoiled now.

Congratulations on your new machine Sandy. I hope you learn lots of wonderful, new options that you will enjoy in your one-on-one session.

They work great on drop-in bobbin machines. Vertical bobbins still have problems with bobbin thread cut too short. Never used on the Pfaff 2170. I try not to use it on the 1500S. Rather use starter piece of fabric.
