    Rats!

I have way he'd Jenny's JRR videos (both) over and over... So... I finally started on...

Now, I distinctly remember hearing her say to try not to get it twisted... I thought.. How could that possibly happen?
    Famous last words....

When I got to the end of the first joining.... There it was....a nasty twist on the end... I didn't exactly say "rats "...

Now, there is a lovely twist at the end of EVERY long seam... I don't know how to fix it...

Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do? It's such a nuisance to have to deal with the twist at the end of every seam,,.. Not a big deal, but annoying.... .

    HELP!

I've done that. I cut it before I finish sewing the end. Leave yourself wiggle room to do that.

It doesn't matter for the first two passes. But it gets more serious once it gets wider. So I run my fingers along one edge of the strips from bottom to the top to make sure that I match up the edges for the last 3 passes so there are no twists. I also stop sewing about 3" from the end of each pass, cut the strips and then finish the sewing. If it is twisted and you cut crooked, you will just lose width as you trim the sides of the finished top to square it up.

I cut the long strip, ran out the twist, sewed the two cut ends together on the diagonal, then actually did some pinning, to get it going straight.... I hope this works...

I feel for ya! I haven't tried it yet, but I do have something in mind for it. I hope you get it straightened out.
Making me wonder if I even want to try it now, but if I don't, what will I do with the JR I have put aside for one?

This is my learning JRR quilt... I'm trying to see what not to do, before I use a JR I really like.... I just don't know how this twist happened.. But, now that I know how easily a twist can sneak in, I 'll be very careful the next time.... That's for sure.... I really like the look of JR Quilts...

I do the same thing Jean does. It just takes a minute to line up your edges to make sure there are no twists.

I must have a JJR angel. I have made three throws and never paid much attention when lining up the strips and never got a twist. (I guess that makes up for me not having a parking spot angel).

                      Parking Spot Angel?

Al and I used to joke that if we got a great parking spot at work we should just walk home and leave the car there all week . . .
