    DD - couldn't resist

I was trying to be soooo good, and then it had to be Serena for the DD - I had seen that one before and loved it. I made it almost two weeks without buying the DD. I tried to talk myself out of it, I really did! Then I thought... hmmm, my SIL just bought a house and is still figuring out her colors - I bet she would love this combination!!... so I bought two charm packs and I AM NOT ASHAMED!!!!

You sound like me with the Ellie Ann's. I got the first charm pack several months ago as a DD, then it came up again recently and I just had to have another one. I'm still trying to decide if I want to make a lap quilt or get enough to make a queen size for my bed. I'm leaning towards making one for my bed, but then the next problem is what pattern???
    Love Ellie Anne!!

Framing the charm squares would be cute.

It is one that as soon as I seen it, I thought of my mom. I think that I will get a total of four (total price of $28.85) that will make a nice quilt unless she wants me to make a queen size then it will be a little more or I might add a jelly roll or sashing to make it larger.

Glad I wasn't the only one who bought the DD plus extra fabric... I'm just sashing the charm size squares for a fast quilt to be cherished and hidden away from DD#2... she claims everyone I make...(esp the ones with lots of Blue-HER fav color)

              Re: DD - couldn't resist

I just did a DD with the April Showers, love that line, it was simple four patch each sashed with white, as soon as I get it back from the quilters I'll show a pic. I'm also doing the same thing with the DD Ellie Ann charm pack, in both cases, did the deal plus 1. Whenever I buy the DD I always buy a second one, whether it be charms or layer cakes, Jenny counts on us buying multiples of the DD.

I've decided from now on to just buy the DD charm packs and no extras, throw them into a drawer until I get enough and then mix and match to make a zipper quilt, working on a mix and match one right now.

I first saw "Serena" when it was on a Fabric Friday blog post and I immediately put a jelly roll on my wish list! This is going to be for me. As much as I love purple and it is my undisputed favorite color, the right blue - especially shades of blues together - are a very close second.

I was only slightly disappointed to see the deal was for a charm pack and not a LC or JR - but I can certainly see a tote bag and possibly a small table topper or pillows for the charm pack so I tossed it in the cart, along with some yardage, my JR from the wish list, a few other things...lol gotta get that free shipping you know.

Yes, I know, have to spend that extra $75 to save $5.00. lol

I never buy over $100 at one time, I just wait and throw anything extra I want in my cart for the next time there's a DD that I like.

Ridiculous logic right? LOL! I swear it's never really my intention but - somehow, it just kinda happens. I am going to have to try it your way. See if I can change my ways. LOL

I got one also. I was good though. I only ordered one. I thought I would just stash it away, for now. I might actually save it for me...unheard of.

Apparently a lot of people liked it. I just went to my cart to checkout and it was listed at 8.95 so needless to say I dumped it, will wait for tonights DD before I checkout. I didn't like it much anyway, was just going to throw it in the box for whatever.

I ordered it also. It would have been a great idea to get some matching fabric (or two of them) but I didn't think of it. I added another special, though, the crazy quilt templates. I know in my heart that the last thing I need is templates for a crazy quilt, because all you need is a five-sided shape to start with, they don't even have to match, and there is nothing special about the shapes of the templates--on top of which they are expensive. However, I just kept imagining doing "fussy cut" centers by looking through the plastic and centering motifs for the center part of each square. Again, ridiculous, as all I would have to do is freehand cut around the center motifs, right? Silly, silly, silly. And yet, I ordered them. And I will probably have fun with them. Go figure.
