So say you have your borders almost done

And you start looking at your quilt top and suddenly see that one row is off. Do you leave it and walk away or do you rip out the side borders and redo.

I still have to add one more larger border but I'm waiting for the fabric to arrive so I have time to rip it out. The thing is I'm trying to decide if leaving it will bug me in the long run or not.

Would it irritate you to know a row was slightly off? And I do mean slightly. But I can still see it if I look for it.

I've never made anything that I didn't think was off slightly somehow

Your eye will always go to that mistake. Fix it now while it can be fixed and then you will be happy with your work!

If it was me I'd leave it, unless it would really bug me later. It depends on the quilt. If it's a gift, I'd rip it, if it was just for me I'd leave it.

Mistakes? I can't see any.... But then, I'm not very observant.....

I'd like to say leave it, but I know how I'd really feel.... I once made a fence rail quilt that had a definite pattern... There were sevrn colors involved, and each color went in sequence...

Well.... I must have ripped rows out of that quilt 3-4 times before I got it right.... And it wasn't a gift..... I recently saw one block turned the wrong way....

So.... I hate to say it, but I thunk you will always be dissatisfied with yourself....and the quilt...if you don't correct the problem now... Sorry....

Your only consolation is knowing that we have all been where you are in one way or another...

Is this a trick question? I honestly can't see any problems.. I say leave it, if there is a mistake I think it will quilt out.

Umm, can you put an arrow in your pic?

I haven't a clue about how to put an arrow on there... But if you look at the top of the star, the orange/yellow HST next to the green/yellow HST.... The green HST is slightly off and it makes the gray block above it slightly skewed.

Thank you ladies, for making me feel better about what I think is a mistake. It's nice to know there are others who have had the same issues at one time or another.

I'm OCD enough that I'd have to fix it. Every time I looked at it I'd see the error and it would bug me. It's easier in the long run to just fix it.

I think it won't be noticeable once you quilt it but only you know if it will bug you. Would it be possible to just take out that square and adjust it? I offered to finish a top for a friend, her first attempt. Before I could add the borders I redid several of her blocks. She never knew but it made me feel better. Beautiful star!
