How to make your applique more fun

There have been a lot of applique questions lately. I have done a lot, but all on children's clothing. This is my favorite thing in my sewing room for it. A projector. There are several brands in all price ranges.

I have this one. It wasn't this expensive when I bought it and I was running a business for cake decorating. My two girls and their friends used it for so many school projects and craft stuff. When I was selling my stuff off the guy asked if he could have it. Was a big fat sorry.

So what can you do with them? I have taken a 2'' sticker of a kitty and enlarged it to 7'' for a girls dress (I still need to take a pic of that, darn) Take a design from your fabric and enlarge it.

Great idea! I always seem to do it the hard way. This would work great and I should have thought of it since I used to do it when I was a teacher and wanted to make a bigger image for decorating my classroom.

Great idea. I didn't know they still existed anymore. I think every classroom in America had a projector in it at one point.

                Thank you

It's funny how you can evolve something. This went from cake decorating, kids stuff, clothes and now into quilts. Well, the last one I'm working on, but it will get there.

Lorie, it's the same principal just a different application.
That's the sign of true genius.

Great idea!!! I always thought appliqueing was hard. It really isn't. In fact it is fun to work with. My next big project on my list is to do a quilt all in Applique. Thanks for sharing!!

I am going to embark on some applique soon for a baby quilt. It will be robots and I downloaded some pictures after searching color book pages. I enlarged them with my computer, hope they turn out OK. This is a new skill for me to learn.
The projector is a great idea.

Great idea especially when you said to take a design from the actual fabric. That'd be cool!
