First quilting project post-baby is being planned...

I ordered the Plum Sweet Jelly Roll and a matching charm pack when it was the DD recently. It has not arrived yet but when it does we will use the fabric to make a baby quilt for my niece who turns 1 in April. I like that the fabric is very feminine but not baby-cutesy. My plan is to use the JR strips to frame some charm squares and just sew that together. Not the most elaborate thing but as they say, done is better than perfect and I think it is doable.

I also considered doing the charm pack with JR strips of one fabric on the top and bottom then a different fabric JR strip on the sides then the block next to it would be rotated 90° so the longer strips would be top and bottom and the shorter strips would be on the sides. I wanted to see an example of what that would look like but I don't know if that layout has a name?

I'm also aspiring to make a fabric wall hanging for his room that looks like this:

I'm not sure how well I'll do with either of these projects as the loss of sleep is making me feel very fuzzy. We'll push through though.

Before I forget to tell you...

Loosely based on a true story.

and we love him back that much too. I was fooling around this morning on goggle maps and discovered you are about 40 miles away from my son who lives in Lorton VA.

I see he has his Sawyersaurus suit on.

Now if only you could make his pictures have that sweet baby smell in them we would all be in 7th heaven. Nuthin better than that. I just spent yesterday with my two GSs, and the "I'm NOT little" 4 1/2 year old is past the point of cuddles with Mema...Grandpa sure, Mema, no way.... enjoy little Sawyer while he can still be held!

Snf thanks for sharing.......and you're closer than Lorton for us! Do you ever hit the original G Street in MD?

You want to spell his name out - that's wonderful. And, you know what? YOU CAN DO IT.

He is certainly very special here.

I made the flag banners in my son's name.............oh, about 25 years ago! He loved it and went on to use flag symbols as his "secret code" for years after!

Thanks for sharing your little Sawyer with us. He is growing already!

Thanks for the love Sawyer. Everyone needs a little love, especially from that cutie. Hope y'all are able to catch a few naps. I think the wall hanging would look great.

Sawyer is so precious, love, love, love seeing this little sweetie. The flag banners are cool, I had no idea what they meant, until Sandy's post, awesome idea from you smart ones out there. I think your idea for your jelly roll and charm pack is a great idea.
