I have been to a retreat this weekend, too. It was marvelous, some people I knew, some new friends, two quilt tops put together and lots of work done on another top. I still need to put borders on but I am almost there.
The retreat was at a huge house on a lake with a beautiful view. The have fixed the house up for retreats, there are beds and dining chairs for 20 quilters or scrap bookers or what ever else floats you boat.
We had quilters, embroiderers and several ladies doing miscellaneous sewing projects. Lots of fun was had by all and i am anxious to go again. BTW the food was scrumptious.
I'm so excited. Leave this morning for Kwilt Kamp, a weekend long quilting retreat. We book the entire Seyon Ranch (an old fishing lodge) at a local State park. Fourteen of us with our projects being catered to all weekend. This is my third year, always a blast.
That sounds like heaven to me right now! I've been to a few scrapbooking retreats with my mom and sister and we always had a wonderful time. So relaxing - just hanging out with friends, making new friends and being creative. I miss those weekend trips. I haven't found any since I started quilting but I am on the look out for one.
Your subject caught my eye because at lunch today I saw a car with a personalized license plate "I KWILT" . I, of course, got a kick out of it. The people I was with were like..."ok - they spelled quilt wrong". Buzz kills. LOL
Anyway - I thought it was cute!! Besides, maybe "I QUILT" was taken and this quilter would not be deterred from her (or his!) personalized license plate!

Sadly, I'm sitting here (at 2:30 AM) listening to the freezing rain hit my window. Supposed to switch to all rain all day. Neither rain not snow....blah blah blah...shall keep me from KK.
Can't wait to go. Meeting a friend at 100 to carpool, stop at the nearest Joann's on our way and meet up with two others for lunch before we head on over to the lodge. YAY!
