    My first two big projects

The first quilt top is a Disappearing 9. I took a class at a local quilt shop and we did a lap sized top. I kept looking at it and decided I liked it so much I wanted a queen size for my bed. I also have pillow shams. I was pleased with how it turned out for a second top. I don't remember the pattern, I do think it was Moda.

The second will be a queen size Disappearing 4 patch. It is made with Moda's Metropolitan Fair charm packs and beige charm packs. It is for a friend. I'm going to put window panes of burgundy and a burgundy boarder.

I have 3 or 4 more projects in the pipe.

Really nice looking quilts! I love those patterns, they are easy to do and look awesome. I like the bold black sashing you have in the first one. It's very striking.

Both are great quilts.... Your friend is going to love her quilt.... Just curious to know how many charm packs that quilt took.

There's something about the D4P that appeals to me so much! Thinking of doing one in red and white...

                    Sandy,

It took 4 of Moda's Metropolitan Fair and 4 beige charm packs. It makes 80 four block squares. I'm going to have to get one more of each pack to make shams.

Red and white would be great. Just about any color combination will work for it.

Bob, Both quilts are good looking and very good color combinations. I like the D9P but always used the same fabrics for the whole quilt. Like the way you used more than one color combo, also like the way you sashed them - very striking. Love the one you are making for a friend, might be a good pattern for the one I will make for granddaughter's engagement gift.

I love the disappearing nine patch pattern. I am working on my first quilt top and that's the block I chose. I like your color selection. It's a beautiful quilt.
