My guess is it's covering up where a kitty scratched. I could have used a few of those a couple of years ago.

I agree with Peggy. Covering cat clawing. I'd love to do that by my guy would just scratch off the patch.

It's suppose to be a deterrent for scratchers, I think....but to me it looks like there is a big hole that they are trying to cover up....she could have used blending fabrics to keep it less noticeable.

I thought it was hilarious and a unique way to patch a jacked up spot on furniture. I would have never thought to do that.

It is a conversation starter for sure. In my warped mind, I thought it looked a bit like a fungi taking root and growing on the sofa. But then it's more likely a cat scratch remedy.
