    Human Powered

Why, oh why can't there be a human powered sewing machine that does embroidery????!!!!!!

After marrying and going off-the-grid I sold my Husqvarna which did beautiful embroidery. Now that I am learning quilting and preparing to sell quilted Bible covers that would have really been an asset to add to my products. I'm having a light-weight pout going on her thinking about it.

We happenstanced upon a store, Lehman's, that sells old-timey type products. Of course many of their items are ridiculously priced. Just goes to show it is possible to make some things human powered.

    Sigh.

Oh, I actually found a tutorial on how to take a motorized serger and make it treadle-operated. I'm just chicken to let hubby at it, giggles.

Are you in Ohio? Yes Lehman's is expensive but so much fun to browse.

I've added applique using an embroidery like stitch around the applique. Doing an entire embroidery myself without the machine, I'm not brave enough to even think of doing it lol. But - you thought of it, so maybe you can do it!
      Thank you,

Not any more, yipppeee!!!!! Wouldn't mind spending a week with those Ohio Amish though (minus the church services). We could learn a thing or two or three or four from them on off-grid living. Oh yeah ;-)

I like to visit but have no desire to live off-grid.
