Nice idea for help with threading needles

I remember reading here that some have real issues with threading needles and I in particular remember a lady who's husband threaded a bunch of needles for her before going to work (I don't remeber who wrote it, it was a year or so ago). I saw this cute little travel etui on Pinterest this morning and thought of you!

Thread runs through ALL the needles in the cover! Just pull ... | So ?

That would be great for travelling too. The only limit is the amount of needles you have at your disposal.

Isn't that a clever little thing! I also recommend the Clover needle threader. I use it all the time and it works great!! I bought mine here at M* when it was the Daily Deal.

      What a clever idea!
I've been known to have my 21 year old 'needle' me up on her way out the door, when I'm in binding mode.
      I LOVE it!
But I really need to 'bite the bullet' on the Clover gadget....
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

That's really cool! The only thing with the needle threader is that I need my glasses to go with it.

When I took my quilting class the lady teaching the class used a self threading needle. It had a slot in it instead of the 'eye' part. I think Fons and Porter sell something like that. Hers wasn't F&P but I forget the brand she used.

LOVE the Clover needle threader. Even with reading glasses, I have lost my ability to "see" the eye. Whoever invented the Clover threader deserves my sincere thanks!

I am doing the Leah Day FMQ project this year and she has introduced me to a cheater needle. I looked everywhere for one, but my DD found them in the yarn section of Hobby Lobby. Works great! NOT cheap, though!

I just saw those cheater needles and was about to order some. I hope they work, as it is really getting harder to see the eye, even with the glasses on. I sometimes still use those little wire gadgets where you put the thread in it and the stick the wire into the eye and pull through enough to grab the thread. Does anyone else have those things? They do work, but I keep misplacing mine.

What a great idea. Ah the Clover Needle Threader. I bought one, and youngest GD loves it too, however the thing does not like me. It is getting harder and harder to see those little eyes. Might have to go to the cheater needles.

Re: Nice idea for help with threading needles

I use cheater needles to bury my beginning and ending threads when machine quilting the quilt and they work GREAT! I have never used one for anything else (like hand sewing the back of my binding, for instance), just for burying thread, but it really is a great little invention! I bought mine at Joann's with a coupon a while back.

I also use a needle threader (just a little $5 dollar one from Walmart) that works pretty well for threading regular needles. Thanks goodness for these little helpers as my eyes get a bit less cooperative!

I have those. No idea what they are called in English though but the direct translation from Swedish would be "needlethreader". Can't say I use them lots (yet) but I'm sure the time will come, if I get to keep my health!

That is a cool idea, but I would still need my clover threader to thread those needles I am only 48 but my eyesight just isn't what it used to be.
