    Advice please

    Hi everyone,
    I purchased some polyester for a scarf. It's very soft, very light weight and wispy. I have never sewn with this type of fabric so what do I need to know? Do I need a special needle? Do I reinforce the fabric somehow?
    I was afraid to start because I didn't want to wind up with my fabric chewed up under the needle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I would say to use a ball point needle, possibly a size 8. I wouldn't think you would want to reinforce the fabric since it is for a scarf, you want it to retain the feel it has now.
