    feeling a bit stressed

I can't help but feel a bit stressed right now. Don't laugh but....let me start by saying my nick-name within the quilt circle is "The Finisher" I start a quilt/project complete it then begin another. Now since my sewing room is not yet all set up and my DH has not been able to get my sewing table up my machine just sits on a table-my old ironing table. I now have two quilts sandwiched and I just completed another full size top today. 3 UFO's I can not deal with this. Only small projects until I can finish these things.

    Hi Beth,

I'm quite the opposite from you. If people knew me, they'd call me "The Starter." But I feel stressed out once I get to a certain number of UFOs. So I feel your pain -- it just takes me longer to get there.

I am a "starter" I enjoy the process of make the quilt top, not the sandwiching and the quilting stresses me. I will always have UFOs. But, I do understand your side of it too.

        Beth,
My oldest sister & BFF are like this...they start projects and it takes them forever to finish the things they started. My sis has even sheepishly brought things to me to "finish".....LOL!
I think my sis takes after my dad a lot....he was like this too.
I have a beautiful sewing / crafting room ( that I want to re-do ) but enjoy sewing out here by my computer desk ....go figure !

Pat are you saying I should lighten up? lol Really it does bother me that these quilts are sitting there, maybe hide them in a colored plastic bin in the garage.

I start a lot of quilts, but they all get done eventually. I get bored if I work on one thing only.

                  Re: feeling a bit stressed

I'm a slow finisher. I start and finish eventually. So I think it's safe to say that I don't feel your pain when it comes to having your UFO's, but I can feel your pain if you tell me you have to work in an unorganized sewing area because my sewing area has to be clean. If not, I freeze up.

I'm a finisher too only because I usually have deadlines on my stuff. I'd love to have the time to make a bunch of tops, sandwich a bunch at once and quilt a bunch at once. That's my goal this year lol.
                    Thank you,

I'm like you. I would be most spassed out that my room isn't done. I inherited a gene from my mother where I would be grabbing a hammer and screw driver and putting up my own table ...then my husband would come in ,get totally irritated and finish the job...then I would freak out telling him I'm not helpless ( in undeniable terms) and EUREKA...I have my sewing room!!!! My mother once built a complete bed room set from scratch for me "cause dad just couldn't get to it!
