    Eye Candy For The Day

Lovely quilters, it's me again with a beautiful, no CUTE quilt that I saw. I just had to share it with you. Knowing me I'll be doing that a lot so please bare with me; nobody here to share these lovelies with.

I am noticing that I enjoy the look of off white, cream, the color of unbleached muslin when it comes to quilting (especially the back). I just LIKE this quilt. It is darn cute.

Is it safe to say it is appliqued? You say what?

I would say it is appliqued and then rick rack sewn around the edges. I would have to do it 2 steps. VERY cute!! Wishing I had as many dots as ginghams.....I would so do this! I have a friend that would adore this quilt !!!

Even if we find the pattern we might not be able to read it...looks like it might be French. So I guess if I can't find it then I'll just wing it.

Although, I am not a very modern or contemporary person, I do find this quilt to be very cute. I would also say that it's appliqued.

Re: Eye Candy For The Day

It is in the Quiltmania Summer 2012 edition. The magazine is French and there was an English version...but no one seems to have it. So I think I will cut some squares / rectangles of light colored cloth and fit them together and then make circles to fit the squares /rectangles, applique them and pretty them up and just see what I come up with.

If you want to try a simpler version of a quilt with circles - here is a tutorial that I have bookmarked as I really like this and plan to give it a try this year:

Comfort and Joy Circle Quilt Tutorial | blooming poppies

She doesn't cut squares but just puts the circles where she wants on the quilt. I also think how she makes the circles is interesting as they "poof" a little bit as they are not directly adhered to the quilt back.
