    What pattern would you do?

I bought five Waverly fat quarter bundles and some gray fabric at Walmart the other day. Just because.

I have no ideas on what block pattern will best show them off.

The colors are aqua, pink, blue, purple, and black, with some same color prints on white.

    Soliciting pattern ideas….

    Thanks,

Need a great pattern for using up those medium and large-scale prints you have been saving? Try Nancy Mahoney's quilt design using hexagons and half hexagons.

That twirling hexies is pretty cool. Great for scraps…

Or a Granny Squares? Though I’m not sure how I would incorporate the five different fabrics from each bundle.

And I’m not sure about using the black or the blue. I was primarily attracted to the aqua, pink, and purple. Thought the black would add a special accent. Picked up the blue because, well, it was there.

LOL. And that's how our stashes get built!

I posted this same request for suggestions on Facebook in the group Quilt Along with Pat Sloan. The list of suggested patterns people responded with must be thirty or more.

I still am having a hard time visualizing using the five fabrics in each bundle together, and just those five. I think I am going to have to consider adding other solids besides the gray. I don’t know. The top print, which I like best in each group, is so bold compared to the others. And it’s directional. And it begs to be used in one large square.

Some have suggested Oh My Stars. The pattern calls for several large stars on a field of rectangles or squares. The stars would look good using the bold swirly fabric, I think. But I’m having trouble visualizing the placement or arrangement of all five colors of the rest of the darks.

So, far, nothing is jumping out at me. But that’s okay. I’m no where near ready to work on this one with twenty designs ahead of it in the queue. Eventually I’ll come up with something.
