    Ken Burns the Quilt Collector

I've known for some time now that Ken Burns collects quilts but I never knew to what extent his collection went. I was amazed to see so many wonderful quilts in his collection. He truly has a deep, deep feeling & love for quilts.

Oh my! That is totally amazing! Thanks for sharing the link. I've never heard of him before. It was fascinating the way they prepared the museum to display the quilts.

Ken Burns is a filmmaker who has directed & produced many TV documentaries for PBS (Public Broadcasting Company) such as Civil War, Jazz, Baseball, National Parks, Country Music & many more. They are excellent programs if you ever get a chance to see any of them. I think he's produced about 53 films & here's a link to them.

Oh yes if you haven't seen a Ken Burns film you need to check it out. I haven't seen all of them but the ones I saw were absolutely riveting. He incorporates alot of old film footage into his documentaries, making that much more interesting. I saw a PBS program on his extensive quilt collection where he had loaned a bunch of them out for a museum display and the curators from the museum were getting them ready.

Kens Burns films are so well done! My hubbys and Inlove watching them. It was neat to see that he is a quilt collector and the process of selecting and preparing them for a show. Thanks for sharing. Rob shared the other day as well.
      Hike

Rainy days are for quilting. Thank goodness I live in a rainforest! 😁
