I need a fast friendly free fabric bowl or shallow backet pattern

    Hi,

I hope everyone is staying safe. Nothing like the last minute...always. Daniel's (my live in bf) birthday is Thursday. He does the finances, hes a procrastinator at giving me a birthday budget. His big present he picked already..a gun. I always do a lot for his birthday....candy bouquets the last couple years, I even found all the coins of his birth year and framed them. ....Anyway this year my theme is money ..he loves money and jewelery.

I went out tonight and bought him some gifts. So for the homemade aspects I'm doing fabric fourtune cookies, I did a money oragami ring and dollar sign. I did a D & A for his initials. I'll buy a real plant tomorrow and decorate it with money oragami leaves and candy. No worries he will take care of it and I'm going to get lighted branches to attach the candy and money leaves to, I bought tiny clothes pins tonight. Yes, I use real money..$1 because I know he won't spend them, so why waste big Bill's. I'm debating on a $5 ring. So I want a cool fabric basket or bowl to put the fortune cookies and money oragami to put in. I did a Google search but wasn't too impressed. He already has several bowl cozies. I have one I'll settle on but wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion. The homemade aspect is something I started and I want to continue, it's so much more personal.

I welcome any sewing ideas as well. I've made him so much stuff, I love that he appreciates it more than a store bought gift. My daughter wanted to make his cake and card this year.

    Thanks, Rachel

Maybe make a Chinese take out box? Google for free pattern/template and a lot of options pop up. Make it out of card stock and cover in fabric or use heavy duty interfacing fused to fabric and use the template. Very cute idea.

I was looking at the instructions and it almost reads like you could use a bias tape tool .after you iron the fusible on, I just bought a new set and might try that out today. One roll makes four baskets too!

One more thing, lol, she has a tute for a paper basket on her site. if you glued these end on end to make strips you could make a money basket.

    Here's a template link to make a Chinese Take-out box :

IF that isn't something you don't want to do check out the Crafty Gemini. She has several cute baskets etc. that are really simple and easy to construct.

If all else fails, if you have a Chinese Take-out.....I'm sure the restaurant would sell you a take-out box!

I love crafty Gemini! I've made so many of her projects. Her snap basket was as my last resort. I'm. Going to do the Atkins ones above. I have the perfect jelly roll. It makes four ...it may just work as the planter cover for my money tree as well. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

So I started and will complete the Atkins basket. All pieces are prepped and ready. I couldn't finish it for tonight. I was trying while I was working. I want to sew the strips on both sides. Just a finishing touch I want to do before I start weaving. So I did these! They are in the front. They were quick and easy.
