    Solid Precuts?

Why do they go so fast? I have been looking, and the solid precuts, either Kona or Bella solids, the fat quarters are gone.....
Why are they in such high demand? Just curious, I don't see many solid quilts, so I just don't understand why they sell out so quickly.

A little insight would be very helpful to this frustrated shopper.

The kona fray badly, not sure why. The only one I buy is Moda black. All I can think of is the mask markers. All the normal non sewers are buying things that we usually stock up on.

Odd. I never have any problem with Kona. I use a LOT of it.

It's been years, maybe they changed something and I'll try again. I used a purple to border a quilt and the fraying drive me crazy. Thanks for the update!

I quit with the Kona too. Too much fraying. Moda Bella is my solid of choice. Their black is really close to "Black Magic," but several $/yd less. No precuts though- total waste of money for my needs.

Until I finally bought a bolt of 108" wide white Dream cotton from Marshall Dry Goods, I bought a lot of Moda Bella charm packs in white for scrap quilts.

I already had a lot of 5" squares that I cut from my fabric scraps, and it was easier to buy the white precuts than doing it myself. It was starting to get really expensive though (I had a lot of squares to use up), so I finally decided to quit being lazy and buy a bolt.

I'm guessing that because solids can be used in so many different quilt patterns, it's sometimes easier than buying yardage for those.

      That's my theory, anyway.

If it's just fat quarters that you can't find, then I would agree that it's probably mask makers buying them up.

Have you tried any of the Grunge fabrics? They are good blenders.

They don’t appeal to me. But thank you! 😄

Thanks all, I was or am looking for a solid, mellow rainbow or softer tones, there was one by Corey Yoder and I didn’t buy it at the time and of course I am SOL but I am wanting to make a modern triangle quilt for my neighbors daughter.

I will keep looking, thanks for the input. Keep quilting.

Another suggestion: Toscana - it blends well with many other fabrics. M* has the JR, charm pack, & some yardage.

I know your looking for precuts, but you want rainbow too. You can't go wrong with one of these.

I bought one a few years ago.

Thanks, I might look into that. Could be some potentially good choices.
