    Janome MC 9500

Ok I am going to use my old Kenmore to learn on but I want a new machine in the next 4 or 5 months. I have been told to get a seperate machines for embroidery and sewing but I will only have a budget of $2500 and wondered if anyone has a Janome 9500? I want the machine to be used for sewing, quilting and embroidery.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 4400 I got it about 8-10 years ago. I don't have a separate machine for embroidery but I was very tempted in the end it was the budget that decided it for me. At the time my main need was not embroidery. It still isn't, but I still want one

Did they say what the disadvantages were to having the same machine for both?
To stitch or not to stitch... There is no question.

I had heard that you should get them separate but I am not sure why. I know that people who have an embrodiery machine say to get the biggest embrodery field that you can afford. I have heard a lot of good things about Janome. I just want to do research before I spend that much money. I will also take classes on what ever I choose to buy.

My mom has a Janome MC something?? and it only gets used for embroidery and I'm not really sure why... she uses her regular Janome for simple stitching.

I have a Janome HT2008 and a Simplicity Embroidery machine, well along with 4 other basic sewing machines. I love my Janome. If I want to use my embroidery machine I can set it to run while I am sewing on another. I have 2 sewing machines set up in the dining room now with projects going. I have seen the 9500 in action, AWESOME!
If you have the need or desire. GO for what you want in the long run you will use it and love it.
          Happy sewing

The disadvantage of having a combo machine is that you can't sew with it and embroidery at the same time. And if that is the only sewing machine you have you have to switch it over every time you want to sew and or embroidery. I like to do my embroidery first then cut my pattern out and start my sewing but sometimes I decide to do a little more embroidery and I have to change my machine back. I have a Baby Lock Esante and the only problem I have is it's sews like a dream and I hate to use my back up machine for sewing
