    I am going to CRY!!

My wonderful daughter came today to give me the day sewing again while she helped with her two brothers.

I was sewing along, trying to figure out WHY the stupid machine kept skipping stitches.

I finally noticed the needle was lower than it should be, went up to tighten it again, and the whole thing broke off!! It's plastic, can you believe it?? I had a guy at the Janome store warn me about that. Well, guess what...he was right.

What am I going to do now??? I won't have a car tomorrow. Ladies, I am so sorry, those of you in the block swap, but I don't know what to do. Anyone have time to make the blocks this weekend and want to take my place??

I'll try to upload photos of the broken part and the half finished blocks.

    Oh.. don't cry!!!!
I wish you lived near me... i'd lend you a machine until you can bring home your Lidia(Horizon)...
I have seen that machine and it's a beauty...i hope you can get it soon..
I have a "Jem" (janome)... and that thing will stitch thru anything... and

ps. at overstock.com i picked up a discontinued model Janome for around 50.00.... i leave it at my quilting group, so i don't have to lug my machine with me every monday.... they have several machines Janome... for well under 100.00 and if you do a bit of research.... you'll see they are very reliable... where you have a J.dealer near you... it would be easy to service if you needed it.. just a thought..I did visit you blog... very nice... barbara

Seriously, I'm happy to receive mine unfinished, this could happen to any of us, I'm sure we are all happy to be there for you. You've had enough problems lately, you don't need to be stressing over this, it's meant to be fun, not something that makes you cry.

Hillbilly...Don't worry...Just send as is and we will finish them. Oh I wished we lived closer I have a machine you could have. Check at your local goodwill stores...seriously they show up there from estates, etc. and are priced to sell.

Re: I am going to CRY!!

Thanks ladies. You'll have to square them up as I've had trouble with the stupid machine needle moving. Now we know why!! I didn't even get ONE finished, so I hope they are all cut right, LOL.

My kids and I will sit down tonight and sign them.

I did run to the Janome store just now. It's about 30 mi away. The lowest price they had was $200.00; so I will look on Overstock. com. I certainly want to stick with them.

This Singer that broke is supposed to be an 'industrial strength' for denim and leather. I was shocked to find that piece plastic. It's only 2 yrs old. The lady at the Janome store knew exactly what machine it was. She said they get them in on trade all the time. They are all plastic gears on the inside. It may eat through everything, but it breaks quickly. Don't buy Singer. I have had a mess of luck with machines lately.

For now, I'll order the part online and get through until I get to bring the other one home!!!

I will mail the blocks tomorrow. Thank you again, ladies.

I won't mind it a bit to finish up the blocks! Send them on, and don't stress about it! I was afraid it was something like that wrong with your machine. I had one do similar things a few years ago, but was hoping that if I didn't put it into words that it wouldn't be........sorry Hillbilly, I know how frustrated you must feel. At least it can be fixed, to get you through till you can get your new machine out of layaway!
