    It's KINDA like TV :)

As you may not know, I don't have TV (nor do I want it really, I like it too much) So, sometimes I will spend hours on Youtube watching people sew, even if I already know how to do it. Sometime I put Jenny's tutorial playlist on and just see if I have missed any of her old videos. I keep a drawer of 'ugly' and 'scrap' fabric, because eventually after watching 2 or 3 videos, I just HAVE to sew. I may not be doing Exactly what they are, but at least I am sewing. It's kinda like watching food network all day then keeping snacks beside you just in case
Anyone else have and idling sewing habits?

Being new I am trying to learn..I have chosen mug rugs to help with cutting, seams and straight line...all of which I am NOT good at...lol...but I will keep at it...I see some of the wonderful quilts on here and wonder if I will ever get that good....But I am having fun and thts what counts...
These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love, some work to do,
    A bit'o sun, a bit'o cheer.
And a guardian angel always near.

Interesting Shannon! I have even seen people put bindings and such on Mug Rugs, that's a great practice project! I will keep that one in mind too

Is this true confession time? I spend WAY TOO MUCH time on the internet and keep printing out patterns of things I want to make sometime and then filing the patterns and not being able to 1) remember anything about them, or if I do, 2) not being able to find the one I want; yet, 3) I am smart enough to know that if I would get up off my hiney and head to the sewing room I may find time to do all those things I'd like to do.

I don't think I have any quirks while sewing. I usually have the music turned on and I do tend to sing. Sometimes I curse if something isn't working for me and I usually always have a candle going to make my room smell pretty.

I recently turned my son's old bedroom into my sewing room. I used to use half of the family room which was nice because that is where we spend all of our time so I was still around the family but they complained my machine was too loud for them to hear the TV so this room of mine is a nice little respite for everyone.

I think if I ever really printed patterns of I would be just like Sandy! :-D
I live in a tiny apartment currently, but I have an office desk I use for my sewing needs. Then put my BIG cutting mat on the dinner table when I need to use that. I hope to have a bit more sewing space like Tanya does one day, maybe even next year when we move :-D

I have to have the TV on while I am sewing, usually on something gruesome like Criminal Minds or Law and Order. How does that help??? I don't really look at the TV so I don't see the gory details.

I have a tv and never watch it...or rarely watch it...we cut the cable down so I can't get my law and order or ncis or criminal minds...beyond that I don't have the time...when I sew or do anything it is just me, the dog, and the parrot, no radio, no tv...just the sounds we all make as I go about my day....I spend most of my time either on the sewing machine or the computer!

LOL I always have the tv on while sewing and watch the same shows as Susie. I do not miss NCIS or Criminal Minds. I have all new episodes recorded. Even though I have seen almost all previous broadcasts several times I still have them on while sewing. That way I can glance at them occasionally, but know I am not going to miss anything important, lol
