do you use it and is it a worthwhile purchase?
Or how do you store your rulers?
Mine are everywhere! I have tried to corral them, but just not working at this point (useful, but in the way).
I will have the chance to purchase one soon, but wanted opinions 1st.

I have this rail under my shelf, above my computer desk. It's from the IKEA kitchen section - don't know whether it's available in the US but they must have something similar.

The rail was £2.99, the tubs 49p each and the hooks are 99p for 6. All my rulers seem so have pre-drilled holes in so they hang there nicely and the tubs are useful for keeping odds and ends in. I'm limited for surface space so this keeps everything out of the way.

Used to stand them up on my table using a letter holder but it was always in the way - did not like that - so now mine are all hanging - from wall board pegs drilled into a piece of 2x4 painted with beautiful watercolor butterflies.

We can get those rails here in the US if you are close enough to an IKEA to get one. My daughter loves those cups in the tub & I have one hanging on the shower rail for the soap scrubbie.
I have my rulers currently wedged in to a plastic bin, and I have a wall mounted letter bin I will try once I have this space renovated. I have also seen a couple of shallow drawers that would work to hold them and my acrylic templates. I have thought about getting a piece of denim or heavy canvas and using drapery hooks to make a strip to hang them from.

This is my hanging storage in my sewing room, hubby is in the process of extending this area...I am tired of shuffling through the rulers to get the one I want. **BTW they are not all up there, not by a long way...too many rulers and quilting stencils.

You have all given me some great ideas for my rulers! I have abandoned the wooden thing, and am thinking in other directions. I do have a shelf already on the wall, that has a small bar on the bottom, so your ideas for hanging them will come in handy, just need to find something to use as hangers!
Keep the ideas coming if anybody else has any!

Yes, I do, and I love it! But I did not buy it, I asked my husband to make it for me, since I did not want to spend the money. It took him about 10 minutes and he also made one for my sister.

If you are going to try to hang your rulers form the bar, I might suggest a set of "S" hooks. Some culinary stores carry them for hanging stuff off of pot racks. You could try the hardware store, but they might not be the right size.

I'm with most of the rest of you here and use a file sorter for my larger rulers, and a letter or bill sorter for my smaller rulers. I find that these give more support for me and I can grab the one I want easily. I also have an old rolling file cabinet that the top 'drawer' is open at the top. This is where my sorters go - along with my basting spray, etc... and other items or books go in the bottom - I can have it all right there with me.

Mine is a relic and doesn't really look like this cart, but hopefully it gives you the idea. I found mine cheap at an auction.

I also have a wooden ruler holder. My son made it for me for Mother's Day one year. I like it alot but it takes up room that many don't have. I have it on top of a bookshelf which holds patterns, mags, etc. The hanging method is best, I think; but I don't have any wall lengths to put the longer ones against and my DH doesn't like holes in the walls (except for the professional pictures of his hot rods that are in the family room). FYI: I do have two Amish quilt hangers that my son gave me for Christmas last year and they DO require holes in the studs in order to hold the queen/king quilts that I have in them)

I keep my rulers in an old chest of drawers ,which stands in the closet of my sewing room,I have stuck on lablels to say whats in each drawer.
