    Second finish for January

This one has been in progress for years. It started as a BOM but I didn't like some of the fabrics and so started collecting batiks that I really loved. It was quilted by M* and I couldn't be happier. It's too big to fit on my design wall but you can see the backing on the right.

How beautiful! That looks really hard to piece. How big are the little squares?

Awesome, those colors are perfect, they really pop with the addition of the white squares.

Ok I could not resist I have looked at and studied your photo at least five different times. Have been trying to figure out how you even made one block, is it 4 patches then strips using all the same color in one block? If you would rather not say that's okay. But it is a really cool looking quilt.

Your quilt looks so beautiful. I can’t see the quilting but that may just be my eyes. I think I started to make a quilt just like this, but I too didn’t like the fabrics. Is this made sort of like a Log Cabin quilt block?

Yup, that's how it's made. It actually is easy to do once you get used to using the small squares. I'm making another one now and made the four patch units using strips.

Wow your quilt is beautiful. It sort of reminds me of the sticks and stones quilt, but narrower strips and each block in same colour.

Kudos to you for finishing it.
