Stonehendge "Reptile Ruckus" Panel Baby Quilt is Finished!

Hi, Everyone ~ I finally have something to show & tell. I just resized my pics using Photo Shop so I could post them here. This is one of 2 baby quilts I gifted Tues. at the church baby shower. I needed a quick project so I used a panel from my stash & added 2 borders to make it large enough. This is a panel I purchased at a quilt show a couple years ago. I did a sort of wavy meander in the main body, used Angela Walters' hook swirl design in the yellow border, & a wavy serpentine for the wider, outer border. I used Glide thread for the FMQ. The quilt measures 38 x 56". There are more pics in my new album.

The other quilt I gifted was the Baby Bargello (blue one) which I made last year. It's among my albums. It is Donna Jordan's pattern.

    Thanks for looking.Reptile Ruckus Panel Quilt - 11-11-2019 205-Res. 40.jpg Reptile Ruckus Panel Quilt - 11-11-2019 206-Res.40.jpg Reptile Ruckus Panel Quilt - 11-11-2019 209-Res.40.jpg

These are beautiful Joy, and your quilting is stunning. Makes me want to pull out all those baby panels that I have.

I think I make this a goal this winter, tackle baby fabric bin.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

The same as the title of my thread: "Reptile Ruckus." It's by Linda Ludovico for Northcott. I picked it up at a quilt show a couple years ago. I have other panels in my stash just waiting to be made into something. Some are for kids; some are for adults. I also have some yardage that is like a panel with scripture sayings on it. It would work well for a lap quilt or a wall hanging. Panels also are a great opportunity to practice FMQ.

Thanks for the comments. I have been doing FMQ since 2012, slowly improving over the years, but I'm no where near where I'd like to be. I've taken several classes -- in person & on line -- & have been following Angela Walters' FMQ challenges. There are so many great ideas in YT videos. I haven't posted many completed projects this year. I had the carpal tunnel release surgery in Jan., then a busy summer with yard work, re-doing some of the flower beds, etc., so my quilting time this year has been sparse. I hope to have more time this fall & winter.
