Mermaid panel quilt with chenille accent

Put two borders of the chenille and two fabric borders. Free motion quilting throughout. Washed twice to fluff up chenille. Like the extra texture the chenille gives and it doesn’t cause lint in the dryer! Fun to experiment!

Beautifully done! The border adds just the right amount of texture.

Oh that is adorable. My granddaughter would love that. She loves mermaids.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

This is really cute! I like the chenille for baby and kids quilts for that extra touch/texture. Where did you purchase your chenille strips or did you make your own from chenille (can that even be done?)?

You can make your own, but I purchased the Dritz chenille rolls that a nearby JOANN had on clearance. Also a company called chenille it makes the rolls. There are some videos on YouTube for ideas.
