It looks like a deck of cards

I finished the black and white quilt with the red accent and I have to say, it was a lot of work and I really don't like it very much. It just reminds me of a jack of spades for some reason.blackwhitered.jpgblackwhitered2.jpgIt is 95x95, white back, quilted with embroider design

From a distance and at first glance it reminds me of pac man. I love the flowers you embroidered on it. It really is a beautiful quilt.

It certainly isn't my colours but you did a good job, especially the embroidery.

I like it very much. To me it has a feminine and vintage feel. Nice work Terry.

Beautiful quilt and although I am not dark colors your quilt reminds me of those abstract paintings of modern museums, and on the edges you see the time you used to finish I love them and the embroidery complete your work, congratulations

Wow! I think it’s stunning. Beautiful work! How did you get the embroidery on there for quilting?

Terry ~ I think you've worked on this one so long you're just tired of it. But...IMO, it turned out great! Love the embroidery. It's a great finish! It doesn't look like a deck of cards to me. If this one is for the Shriner's, someone will love it, & hopefully pay good money for it.

Beautiful quilt. Almost reminds me of a vintage crazy quilt. Love the embroidery!

My DD quilts with her embroider on all of her quilts. They are stunning. I told her it takes a lot longer to do that than FMQ and she laughed because she has never tried FMQ. To do it, I just sandwich the quilt as usual and then start hooping from the center and place the whole quilt with the hoop intothe machine. It takes mammoth amounts of time AND THREAD!!

Great technique to quilt ITH too. It sounds like you are having fun with the EMB machine.

First of all, I love your embroidery work on it! I think the colors are out of your comfort zone and you are probably just tired of it. Let it be for a while and hopefully you will come to like it over time. I love the borders you put on it also.

Terry, I think your quilt is beautiful. Now I admit to liking black, white and red quite a bit. Remember when "having your colors done" was all the rage? Well, black, white and red were way up the scale for me! And there will be someone at your Shriner's Auction who will be just like me, and they will bid a fortune on it. And then you will know that all this hard work was worth it!

The last several quilts that I've finished were quilted on my embroidery machine. I love this method, as I have no faith in myself being able to FMQ. (My hat is off to all of you who do such beautiful FMQ work. I am always in awe of your quilts.) I've been using Edge-to-Edge quilting patterns from Amelie Scott Designs. You don't use as much thread, because it's basically a loose FMQ design, but you do re-hoop a lot. I think your full-on embroidery designs for the quilting are AMAZING.
