    my current WIPs

here is my Grandmother's Flower Garden....only 20 more "flowers" to piece together before I can start putting it together.

and here is my yet unnamed WIP. It's just laid out in color rows...but not pieced at all. I'm going to cut bricks of 8" and do 16" blocks of (2) 4x8 bricks paired with a solid 8x8 block in dark blue for each half square. I just have to get everything cut.

Shell, that grandmothers flower garden is going to be amazing!! You are so brave. I am so intimidated by that pattern! Also that brick one is going to be so fun and bright!! I love that you are sharing these pics of your projects!! Thanks so much!

thanks. the GFG is about to drive me batty...not exactly a quilt that I would suggest as a starter!! I didn't think the pattern through when I started putting it together and now I have to fill spaces in between some of the blooms...blech.

the other one my friend just liked the colors/patterns of the fabrics so I'm going to surprise her with it when I'm done.

hey shell will you have a "background" or base color for your grandmothers flower garden, something in between each of the flowers to break up in between each flower? Or will they all combine? I'm with sarah, I'm way intimidated by that pattern You're doing great though, definitely something to be proud of

I have to be honest that GFG makes me afraid of quilting. I'll just come right out and say it. It sure is beautiful though!

Give me pinwheels! That's my speed.

I really like the flowers. It looks kinda hard though, but I think it will be really neat when you get it finished. Thanks for showing and telling. I really enjoy that. The other project will be neat too. I am anxious to see the pattern as you put it together. Keep up the good work.

Ooh exciting!!! Isn't it amazing to see a quilt coming together... That's got to be my favorite part of the process, when all the blocks are cut and they start coming together and you get to see the finished look of the blocks. I always end up stopping several times in this part of the process to lay it out and just admire it

                            Are you hand quilting?
