  • Boomerang top is done

Today I finished the Boomerang pattern top. It's one I started last year and made all the blocks then decided to set it aside. I have been working on it since the new year. It was challenging, not because of the pattern, but mostly to lay it out for colour placement. It's king size and my design wall is not that big. So it was partly on the wall, on the floor and spare table in sections.

I have decided I don't want to quilt it. I know that Angela Walters has done this pattern a few times for Julie Herman, but she is not close enough for me to drop off. So I will look to some of the LAQ that do special treatment, other than all over design. DH likes it and says it would make a nice summer quilt.

Beautiful quilt. I don't know how close you might be to Tamarack Shack, but she does some custom quilting also. She recently moved to Emo, ON. You can view a lot of her work on her blog.

I love your quilt. I've never seen that pattern before. Having lived in Australia for a couple of years, I got a very different mental image when you said "Boomerang" pattern. Trust me, what you've created is MUCH better than my mental image!

Not close enough. But she does so beautiful quilting. We do have some LAQ who have quilted other people's quilt entered in national Canadian and U.S. shows. One is only a few hours away.
