    Spippet's progress

I've been offline for a while so I thought I'd pop in and share something I've been working on. It's a pattern called Tranquility by Wing and a Prayer Design. A lot of shops have it kitted up as a BOM and that's how I'm doing it. It will finish at 106" square, so it's huge!

This what it will look like finished:

I've made some of the larger blocks and yesterday I added to the center block. The fabric is so beautiful, and the pattern really looks good with the colors they chose.

Here's my center block. It measures about 31" square.

I've also finished this top, called Glory Days. I bought the kit on sale a few years ago and finally got around to making it. The photo is my layout copy (what I use to lay it out and refer to when I get mixed up) - sorry I don't have a photo of it finished yet because I did add a wide light border after sewing it all together. I forget the actual size, but it's laying (lying?) on a queen bed, so it's pretty small. After I quilt it I will make a wavy/scalloped edge.

I taught two friends how to make a pillow case. I call it a French Burrito pillowcase just to sound international It's so funny how excited they were when we finished them! That was month's ago and they still are excited about how easy and cool they are. lol

I also made a few cross stitch pieces and I'm in the process of hand embroidering the seams of a crazy quilt I pieced. It will take me forever to finish, but I'm having fun playing with different stitches. If you want to see the cross stitch, they are in Pinterest.

Thanks Marilyn. I decided to unplug and be off grid for a while. I was getting overwhelmed and needed to break away and regain some sort of perspective. I thought it would help my depression as I felt I was slipping a bit. But it didn't and I had a pretty bad few months. I'm okay now.

I'm loving being off grid, although I do miss all y'all. Not going to the MSQC retreat was a very hard decision for me.

That is a beautiful BOM quilt. It will be beautiful when you are done. I love your other red/beige blocks as well. You have been busy.

I brought back some cross-stichrd blocks my MiL had made. There is one block that needs to be finished (about 2" square). I have asked a friend to finish it for me, as I haven't done this before.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Beautiful work! That is a challenging BOM quilt, but it sure will be an accomplishment when it's finished. The red quilt is pretty, too.
