    Wedding Quilt

I've finally got the main bulk of the quilt top done for Samantha's wedding quilt. It has nearly driven me insane with the slippiness and the fraying of the silk but it's mostly done. I just need to add the rest of the borders and then I can start the mammoth task of quilting. I hope that's easier than the piecing!

            Re: Wedding Quilt

Good Job! It may have been a headache but it is very pretty. My daughter wants me to use her wedding dress and one of the bridesmaid dresses to make a quilt for her and I keep putting it off. Now I think I know why! I'm sure I will do it some day though

It's a lot easier than it looks. It's called Tennessee Waltz from the quilt in a day series and the book has really good clear instructions. It gives you cutting guides and instructions for everything from a small table runner to a king-size quilt.

Just don't try it in silk or you'll never want to sew again!

It is really a beauty. I can wait to see it quilted. Someone asked me to do a quilt in silk and I said a quick "no thank you"! You are a talented and brave woman!

Wow, this is gorgeous! I don't envy you the slippery-ness of that silk, but the sheen on the finished top is so beautiful.
                          What a wonderful gift!

Is this a tradition that I have missed out on? Is this quilt made from a wedding dress? What a great idea and wonderful reminder of such a special day. I can just see it spread out on the master bedroom bed for years to come! BEAUTIFUL!!! and what a fantastic idea!!!
