"Make A Quilt Day" quilt top

April 18 is "Make A Quilt Day" (did you know this??)

SO here is mine Pinwheels and Square in Squares with Hour Glass corners and Flying Geese border! Used the tube strip method for cutting - love that!

When i bought these fabrics and told the ladies i was going to put them together they all sort of cringed and said "ohhhhh kkkkkkkay" LOL I think it turned out great! Looking forward to getting Lizzie home from the sewing machine hospital so I can quilt it with some super pretty pantos!!!

Very nice summery quilt! I think the fabric looks great together. Love the stripes! You saw something they couldn't see. Great job!

Sometimes the way you cut a fabric can make it look complete different. I think it's lovely

thank You for the vote of confidence! but no i did not do ALL of it in one day - the blocks i had already cut and mostly sewn together but played with them for several days trying to figure out the best arrangement. it was on this day the sashing idea came from a friend to breakup the buisiness of the stripes, the corner blocks and borders were all pieced together on the 18th.

                      Rebecca from London,

Very pretty! I'm impressed with the stripe fabric. The directional materials scare me. You did such a fantastic job lining them up so they came out in the right direction.

I would never have thought of it which is a shame, because this is wonderful! Those fabrics are super together -- I love it!! Great pattern for the blocks for the fabrics as well!! Wonderful!

That's a great use of strips! I have always shyed away from strips as I could never get them to look right, but this way is great. And I just leanred how to make pinwheels...so I guess I'll add this to me "wish list" of quilts I want to make!
