These take about an hour each to make. They are for "girls night out" tonight.

Very pretty and a practical gift.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Denise, watch Jenny's tutorial on how to make pouches. She makes it super easy. Not the pattern I used this time but I do my zippers the same way

Laura what pattern did you use? That looks exactly like something I've been wanting to make for a friend at work.

These look like the Becca bag where you take the zipper apart.

                          Re: Quicky gifts

I used a free pattern from so sew easy called quick cosmetics bag. One pattern piece; cut two of outer material and two of lining. Put the zipper in first so you are working with a flat piece of material. I don't even use a zipper foot. Like I said, Jenny has a tutorial for these bags that uses a rectangle of material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehdNBYnFsAw

The ladies really liked their pouches and couldnt believe they only took an hour each to make.

Great idea. I may have to steal this one too. So many projects - so little time.

It took me decades of sewing to get over my fear of zippers. I never thought that I would enjoy them. Then, I saw a zipper class at an LQS. After that morning class, I was able to make 50 zippered pocket books and bags for friends and family. This year, I even helped my DD make her first zippered slacks.
