    A sunny day!

While sorting, packing, and purging mom's sewing room last week, my sister and I found this UFO. Mom had started to rip out a few seams to fix a couple of uh-oh's but apparently became too overwhelmed by the task. (We were packing to move her to assisted living...Alzheimer's ). Anyway, I brought it home and it's no longer a UFO! So bright and cheery. I FMQ'd meandering leaves and spiraled the flower centers. Wish I could get my density to be more consistent, but I'm improving. sunflower.jpg

What a great quilt. May I ask if you gave it back to your mom for her bed? Kathy

I love that you finished your Mom's quilt. It turned out just lovely. I have a bow tie quilt that was the last one my Mom pieced that she took apart for some reason. I'm working on it off and on and hope to finish it this year.

That is so pretty. Both of you did a great job. What a nice keepsake to have a quilt that both you and your mom worked on.

That really is pretty. I was also wondering if you showed it to Mom and did she remember making it or anything?

That was what I was wondering when I posted about giving it to your mom. It is amazing what triggers memories. Kathy

I don't even know yet if she remembers it. But yes, I did send her pics and told her the story (aunt says it was started about 17 years ago). Asked if she wants me to bring it on my next visit.

Bubby, isn't it wonderful to be working on something from mom!
