Got this messenger style bag off of YouTube and pretty much combined three tutorials. It has a magnetic closure, one outside zipper pocket and 2 inside zippers. I also used detachable hardware for the handle. This was a charm square friendly project and took less than one charm pack. I really like the fabric line I used in making this. Robert Kaufman Floriculture Artisian Batik. Final size was approx. 11" long x 7" high by 3" width using Deco Bond interfacing instead of Flex Foam.

I am enjoying developing my sewing skills with every bag. I plan on making different type of bags including satchels, traveling, etc. Big is good for tote bags, but isn't the only type of useful bag. Plus smaller uses less fabric, which is always a plus.

I love love this fabric line. I ended up ordering 4 of them and will have 2 more coming soon. RKaufman Artisan Batiks makes some of my favorite charm packs. Thanks for noticing. This bag really did turn out well. I will be saving this pattern as I'l be making copies of this.

Yes, I do too. The smaller, more utilitarian type purses/bags are great to make and it was a nice change of pace for me from all those "Tote" bags (around 10 or so). Also, having the detachable handle works well. I will be making more of these. Thanks Cindy
