This quilt top was made from blocks left over from a queen size quilt I made for my gr. dau.'s wedding. This finished top has been among my UFOs for probably 5 yrs. I decided it was time to get it quilted. I tried out my new Glide quilting thread. I was able to do ok the first 2 bobbins, but my mach. balked on the 3rd bobbin. I tried a different thread in the bottom, but finally gave up & switched over to 100% cotton thread both top & bobbin to finish the FMQ. Since I made these blocks early in my quilting days, I used fabrics mostly from Wal-Mart. I wasn't ready to pay LQS prices then. Some of the fabrics are metallic; they're harder to sew through & quickly will dull a needle. I no longer buy these, but still have some in my stash. This windmill block was the first one I learned in my very first quilting class. I must have made at least 100 of these blocks! I'll probably donate this quilt. Thanks for looking.Windmill Quilt - Jan. 2017 001.jpgWindmill Quilt - Jan. 2017 003.jpgWindmill Quilt - Jan. 2017 005.jpgWindmill Quilt - Jan. 2017 006.jpgWindmill Quilt - Jan. 2017 007.jpg
