Now I Can Show My Niece's Quilt

We gave my niece her quilt on Thursday at our family get together. I am thrilled to say that she loved it and was surprised too. When she opened the box & saw it was a quilt she said...."awww" & grinned. She took it out of the box and saw the silhouette of her & the little girl from Chile and said....."Oohhh, you used that picture!" She had the sweetest smile on her face. I was so happy that she remembered the picture. Later she told me that picture was one of her favorites from her trip to Chile. I really enjoyed working on this quilt and her reaction to it made it all worth while.

Here is the link to the quilt that gave me the inspiration....after a couple of months trying to decide on a design. As soon as I saw this quilt I knew the layout would be perfect for what I had in mind.

The silhouette is raw edge appliqued & the bible verse is hand embroidered. The fabrics where from an FQ bundle and a few other fabrics from my stash. I did the quilting with my walking foot with inspiration from Jacquie Gerings Craftsy classes. The back is pieced. Thanks for looking.

I forgot to post this picture earlier. This is the inspiration picture for the quilt. It was taken while my niece was in Chile for her college mission course. She worked with children in a school and a church while she was there.
