I was ready to give up on this one

This is a baby quilt I was working on for a friend. It just wasn't coming together the way I wanted it to. I put it aside and had pretty much decided it was going in the box of thrift store donations. A few months later I came across it and decided it didn't need the borders that I had planned. I found the striped fabric for the binding, leftover flannel and batting (both the perfect size) and finished it. Now I've decided it's not such a bad looking quilt after all.

I think its charming sometimes I think we just need a bit of distance from a project to see the charm of it. I think your binding really pulls it all together.

It turned out really cute! I sometimes do the same thing: put it aside and take another look later. I also distance myself from my stash for periods of time. When I go back to search, it's amazing the stuff I find!

That's a nice quilt, I'm glad you didn't ditch it. I have made a Linus quilt that I'm not happy with it but others really like it so I have decided that is not all about my own personal taste!!

I think its precious. Glad you didn't give it to the thrift store. There would be a good charity somewhere that would love it even if it were ugly which it is not. You did an amazing job.
