    Present for my friend....

This is for my friend who lives on a sailboat in the Marshall Islands. She saw mine this past summer and said she'd like one of her own. I was unable to make it then because of my injuries, but I did buy the material and put it in a safe place. Sadly, I thought this was that fabric, but it wasn't! I had the bag halfway sewn before I found the fabric right in the safe place I had put it! This fabric is from the poundage boxes I got at Sew Expo from Benartex. Hope she likes it!

I like the bag and the fabric. Isn't great we can hide fabric from ourselves. You're not the only one.

Beautiful fabric, love the swirl design. Which bag is that?

I think it's called the Pantera. I never got the final copy of the pattern after going to the trouble of testing it for the designer, so I'm not certain on the final name. Andrea or Karen might know.

I forgot to mention the zippers on the side panels zip open and close depending how much stuff you need to put in there. There is also a zippered closing across the top. It takes a lot of fabric and since I used the wrong fabric, I did not have enough to make straps from cloth, so I had to use webbing. For the cross body strap, I sewed my scraps together and cut a strip and folded the edges under and sewed it down to the webbing. It looked pretty nice. I had exactly one yard of the outer fabric, which at the time I was cutting thought was odd because I clearly remembered buying 1.5 yards!!

Pantere Shoppers Tote. I always want to call it Pantera, after the bread place.

That turned out nice. It does take a lot of fabric. I made the large size and I used webbing as the straps too.

Hey, Karen. The bread place is Panera. Pantera is a heavy metal band.

Thanks Karen. I need to get the pattern. It was the side zipper that I really liked on this one

Majuro.....they have been there five years, the past 2.5 on a 42 foot sailboat. They were supposed to come home this past summer, but he got hired as police chief! He was the former assistant chief up in Auburn. Anyway, she agreed to stay one more year, but she was going to come home for two months, so she did that this past summer. When they left, they had no grandkids...now they have four and she is missing them! Well, now they want to extend his contract another year! I can't wait till lunch tomorrow to hear what is going to happen. She got here a week or so ago, her husband arrives tomorrow. They will be leaving January 2. Not sure if MM will get to see them as she is quite sick with a bad cold right now.

I was going to ask what they did out there. I had a friend living on a boat( I think it was St. Barts ) with her boyfriend. But he was just rich. lol
