It seems like I've been working on this quilt for months. I finished piecing it November 2nd and thought that was a milestone, then I began the quilting. I have to tell you that hooks and swirls are not my thing. I found it very boring and tedious. I really like FMQing flowers...but...its done and I will put it up for sale. Hopefully someone will come along and give me my price and I'll make enough to buy fabric for the charity quilts this year. I am happy with it and it really does look pretty on the bed. It is big. 100x 1074patchstar1.jpg4patchstar2.jpg4patchstar3.jpg

It is lovely. How interesting that you find swirls boring, and i LOVE them! Have you looked at Leah Day's extensive listing of different FMQ designs? Although she calls them "fillers", implying that they are for smaller areas, there are many that can be translated into an over all quilt design. If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. Beautiful Terry. Is this done on a domestic machine with no frame?.... Just a thought... if you can find a frame (used)... at a good price... you could put your domestic on it and find your quilting so much easier... I found when i started out that using the high speed machine (reg 9 to 10 throat) was just fine for edge to edge quilting and so much more pleasant...i have gone up to a bigger throat and it doesn't make that much difference for my simple style of FMQ... just some info i wanted to share) GB

Yes, I did it on my DSM. It is a Husqvarna 715 platinum with a 7 inch throat. Now, tell me what this quilt frame is that will make it easier. I just don't know what it is.success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiam
