    Fancy forest #2 finished

I can't tell how relieved I am ....this is the Christmas gift for my niece Katharina. She loves dark blue and I used Quilters linen by Robert Kaufman as a background. The backing is flannel purchased at MSQC because you can only get flannel with baby motives here, and this would be completely non cool for a 8 year old girl. I love this pattern by Elizabeth Hartman, it's challenging but in the end it's worth it. I may try her kitten pattern ...but first I have to relax and finish two totebags for Christmas. And finish my bedquilt, there's a lot of FMQ to be done.

I don't know if I can write this in a way that makes sense for you because my English is anything but perfect. But I want to say thanks to anyone in this forum for the kindness and support I really appreciate that and am so happy that i started my quilting journey two years ago. Here in Germany there are quilters and I found some really nice women, but most of the people here don't understand why anyone is spending hours and hours working on a quilt and buying all this expensive fabric only to give it away. They think I am crazy and I don't care. Seeing loved ones snuggling under one of my quilts simply makes me feel happy. And I am glad that there are people who understand and with whom I can share my experiences

Not many quilters could ever finish one quilt like yours, but finishing two is amazing!! You do wonderful work and giving them as gifts speaks to your generous and loving heart.

Wow! That's sooo beautiful...I have the book and pattern but I'm not ready to put that amount of work into something like that at this time. And on top of all the work, you're going to gift it...good for you!

I love your quilt! And your English is very good! We had a member of the forum from Germany attend our fall forum retreat! AndreaF, perhaps you can meet her some day, I believe she lives somewhat close to Munich! And my table mate at the retreat was working on her own fancy forest quilt! I think that pattern is just so cute. Your niece is just going to love her quilt!

That quilt was so much work! And it is so fabulous!! She will just love it. Your work is just gorgeous. Thank you for showing us! I would never be able to make a difficult pattern like that. You should be so proud of yourself.

Wonderfull quilt is such an incredible job,you have a lot of patience and her niece will love, as you say in your country many people do not understand that you like to do as much work to give in my country is equal not many people do patchwork, in my village just 10 people we formed the class when I started with this technique and today no continues doing any of this, so I am so happy in this forum where every day I learn something new and I can teach my work so I hope to see more by here and keep watching their magnificent works

Your quilt is beautiful! It's definitely a work of art. I especially like the rabbits. We have wild rabbits that hang out in our yard year 'round. Thankfully, they seem to eat mostly the grass & not my flowers. Non-quilters just don't "get it". Ignore their comments & enjoy your quilting hobby and the joy you get from gifting the quilts.
