    Wrapped fabric bowl

OK, not a quilt but I took the class at my LQS yesterday. Such a great, cheap way to use scraps and even ugly fabric!
I highly recommend trying one if you haven't.

Looks great. I love the colors. I have not made the bowls, I have made two hot pads. I'm going to try the bowls next. I love it. They are very fun to do.

The thing I don't like about wrapped bowls is the end. It is hard to taper the end so that it blends into the rest of the bowl and I hate the chopped off look. This is a great solution. Even if the rosette were small it would still be a better finish than most other finishes I've seen. You have inspired me to return to my bowls and
        perfect the endings.

Is this one of those microwave bowls? It is the prettiest one I have seen so far! Where can I find the pattern?

I don't know about 'microwave bowls'. You wrap thin strips of fabric around cord and sew it into a coil. If you google the thread title you should get quite a few tutorials on how to do it!

Here are some ways of ending that I found online today and thought looked OK:

I love making these bowls and as mentioned it is a great way to use up some of your scraps. One hint: cut your strips on the bias and you get less fray and more flexible as you wrap.

Your bowl turned out great. I love the finishing coil, a real improvement over the original finish to the end.
