I really like you've been framed. I love how you rotated the blocks and got a whole new look.

Found it Lori, the quilt was inspired by this quilt that was in Fons & Porter's Summer 2013 issue of Easy Quilts

Lori, I wish I could tell you, but this quilt was inspired by a picture of a different quilt in black and white prints, where all the blocks were going in the same direction, that I saw in a magazine (I could look thru my stack and see if I can find it again), that I figured out how to make the block, or at least close to it, and then made a sample which was pinned to my bulletin board for about 3 months before I realized that if I rotated some of the blocks, it would make that frame shape.

Funny thing is, after I made this quilt, then I came across several patterns for the same look, and here I thought my creation was unique LOL, yet on quick search, I can't find those either. But I'll look thru my stuff later this afternoon for you.

Completed my self imposed UFO challenge

Last week I posted about my self imposed UFO challenge
    http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/showthread.php?t=66408

Well I'm happy to say, I met my goal! (patting myself on the back)

#5 "You've been framed", used random bright colors on a black background, stitched in the ditch.

#6 "Scrappy #2", originally planned to make one big scrappy quilt, but the individual panels weren't lining up well, so I decided to make two smaller quilts. I only had enough scraps left over to add the scrappy inner border to one quilt though. This one, I used a varigated thread for the quilting, with a cross hatch in the center, and stenciled FMQ in the borders

This challenged has helped me in so many ways to improve my skills: Getting better at FMQ, handstitching the binding, knowing which marking methods work best, and most importantly Patience! Thank you to all those that have shared their wisdom and experiences with me. It's because of you that I met my challenge and feel confident in knowing that I can do this!
Working...
