Fancy forest #1 finished

Hello my quilting friends!
I am proud to present my first finished fancy forest quilt, this was a really hard challenge for me. Two years ago I started my quilting journey and it was a bit to bold to start this quilt and I didn't start one....I thought (and this was really a stupid idea) I'll make the second one for my second niece parallel because this will be easier and faster. No it is simply twice the work.... I am quilting the second one these days and it will be finished until Christmas....after that I will take a break and make some things for myself !

All my blocks are in the the same colors because I wouldn't be able to organize both quilts with every block in another color...I would have endet in a mental Home and I am sure my nieces will not care about that. I used a flannel backing, purchased at MSQC and quilted it with my walking foot...

I like it much better this way than a whole bunch of colors. MUCH easier on the eye.

Thank you so much! It's quilters linen by Robert Kaufman I keep using this line as background because you can get it in lots of colors and it's simple but beautiful

I love this pattern and especially love the hedgehog block. You did a super job! I don't think a lot of people realize how much work

Great job!! That is a very difficult pattern so congratulations, it looks wonderful. I have not made it but recently saw one in a local quilt show and I really like that hedgehog block!

Your quilt is fantastic. I love that you limited the color. Very effective. Also adding the glasses to one of the foxes was a touch of fun. Your niece is going to be thrilled.
