    Blue Barn Quilt

IMG_1565.jpg 52 hours later and this 62" square single bed quilt is finished. As I don't have any single beds, it will be a throw. I did edge to edge FMQ and it is SO much quicker than my normal method of each block done separately and then feather borders. I did SITD all the long seams to stabilise it though. This pattern was on the front cover of Today Quilter magazine here in the U.K. Not a pattern I would do again as I like ALL my seams to nest together and on this design it was impossible. So the lumps and bumps some of the joins created are softened by having polyester batting and a lovely fur fleece for the snugly backing.

I have some of that fabric, but I haven't decided what to do with it yet. Yours is beautiful, as always. I like the addition of the diamonds to the borders. What did you put in the corners? I can't quite see them - hourglasses?

Yes Cindy, they are small hourglass within a larger block. I tried to show a closeup photo in this reply but the screen on my iPad just faded out and wouldn't let me download.
