What I have learned about rag quilts

They are so much fun and quick to make; they are very forgiving mistakes disappear ; front and back flannel does not need a center layer for warm climates. Mine turnned out really heavy. I said I wouldn't but did clip it in one evening-- next day I couldnt hold my big coffee mug. Hand was so sore.

Your quilt is really pretty! And thanks for the tip there, it would be a real tragedy for me not to be able to hold a cup of coffee!!!

Nice quilt! I've made several rag quilts, they are easy and go together pretty quickly. But I agree, the clipping can be hard on the hands!

Do you have the spring loaded clippers? They make it easier. I also can't stop once I get started on something like that. Lol

It's really pretty! And I feel your pain! Someone here on the forum had mentioned that they snipped each row as they sewed them together and it was much easier on the hands--I am going to try that on my next one.

Beautiful colors. Having made a few of these - I agree the clipping can tire out your hand. I tend to work on it in short spurts even with the spring loaded scissors.

Beautiful colors! I love making rag quilts. They go together easily and are so snuggly. I also invested in the spring-loaded snippers to do the snipping. It seems to help. I almost never try to snip it all in one day. I snip some each evening until it gets done.
