I just loved getting to do this simple (on my end) quilt. My friend's aunt passed away around 30 years ago and had been an avid quilter. My friend had attempted to put together some of her aunt's leftover 4-patches into strips. Decades later, they were still sitting in a bag in a closet. When my friend discovered that I quilt (she's a new friend in our new home), she asked me if I'd be able to put it (and another I'll show you in a week or two) together into a quilt. She said she's always longed to have her aunt's quilts finished...she was loved very much.
Anyway, I took the strips, moved some blocks to make them the same length, squared up the strips, and blocked them out in white to show them off. I quilted it myself, then used a blue swiss dot, from my stash, to bind it. She's just thrilled with the pictures. I'm getting ready to deliver it to her. She's just had a medical procedure and is still not feeling 100%...I can't wait to hand it over.
